Announcement for Lamb of God Oratorio

To members of the DC LDS Music Resources mailing list,

Rob Gardner composed the Lamb of God oratorio.  This sacred musical retells of the final days of the life of Jesus Christ, His Atonement and Resurrection.  The Lamb of God tells the story through the eyes of those who loved Jesus and knew Him best.

This Easter, the Mormon Choir of Greater Washington and the DC Temple Orchestra will team up to provide this powerful music, free of charge, in 4 performances: 4pm & 7pm, March 24, and 4pm & 7pm, March 25.  Produced by Sandra Turley & Laura McIntyre, the oratorio will feature distinguished soloists, including Sandra Turley and Norris Chappell Jr.  Information about the free ticket reservations are included in the flyer.  The flyers are available in English, Spanish, and Chinese:

Hope you can attend one of the concerts.

Announcement for Interfaith Concert

The Interfaith Concert for the World Interfaith Harmony Week will be held at 7pm at the Washington DC Visitor Center. The Mormon Choir of Greater Washington, among other community choirs, will be performing that evening. Please join us for an inspiring musical evening.

On September 23rd 2010, HM King Abdullah II of Jordan introduced a resolution to establish a World Interfaith Harmony Week at the Plenary Session of the 65th UN General Assembly in New York. This resolution was adopted by the UN on October 20, 2010, and the first week of February, every year, has been declared a UN World Interfaith Harmony Week. The World Interfaith Harmony Week seeks to spread the message of harmony and tolerance among the followers of all the world’s religions, faiths and beliefs. It seeks to do this by promoting their common basis of “Love of God and Love of the Neighbor, or Love of the Good and Love of the Neighbor.” Its message invites everyone, excludes no one, and is purely voluntary.
